Your child is 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1
AND meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:

Speak a language other than English at home or are learning English

Qualify based on household income (National School Lunch Program guidelines)

Are experiencing homelessness

Are or have been in foster care

Are the child of an active-duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces

Are the child of a military member injured or killed while on active duty
-
Are the child of a peace officer, firefighter, or emergency medical first responder who was injured or killed in the line of duty

Your PreK Partner
Kenedy County-Wide Common School District is partnering with Texas Christian Preschools to make high-quality public Pre-K available to eligible three- and four-year-old children in Brownsville.
Through this partnership, families receive the educational benefits and oversight of a Texas public Pre-K program in the caring, developmentally appropriate environment of an established early childhood center. Children learn through structured routines, purposeful play and state-aligned instruction designed to build the academic, language and social-emotional skills needed for kindergarten.
Texas Christian Preschools provides the daily classroom experience and offers optional care before and after the Pre-K instructional day, helping working families access both quality education and dependable care in one familiar location.
How The Partnership Works
Eligible children attend the public Pre-K instructional program at no cost. Optional before- and after-school care is available for families who need care beyond the Pre-K day. Additional fees apply to wraparound care.

A Pre-K Experience with Early Care Support
We know parents desire to give their children the highest quality care and education. Many times, parents have to make a choice at the expense of one of those priorities. Now with our PreK partnership families receive both early care support and high-quality state aligned education. This means small class sizes, age appropriate playgrounds, and potty training support, optional before and after care at the same site while students receive a real public education.

Together with Kenedy County-Wide Common School District our credentialed teacher's will receive district framework that ensures every Pre-K student builds the academic, social-emotional, and character skills needed for a strong transition into kindergarten. Through intentional teaching practices, targeted milestone tracking, and small-group learning, children will receive individualized support in early literacy, math, language development, problem-solving, and self-regulation—all while receiving expert early learning care that comes from Texas's Christian Preschools 44 years as an early childhood leader in Brownsville.

Year- End Preschool Milestone's
Our lessons and curriculum prepare them to meet important goals as we guide them towards developing at the right pace.
A snapshot of several of the many milestones your Preschooler should reach this year:

Consistently follow simple, two-step directions and begin to follow more complex directions
